If it’s one thing that I’ve learn about this world, it’s that it is filled with shitty-ass people. It is filled with people that are fucking assholes, bosses that seem extremely nice but are a bitch and insult you to your face. Today is no exception; I just signed a lease for an entire year to a place that’s run by one of the ugliest person inside and out. The extension of the rental agreement is until 2013 and I fucking hate that I signed the contract. The whole day after this moment was fucking shit then I have my boss come to me right before she left to let me know that I’ve been surfing the web too much and that she feels that I “need more training.”
Who am I to blame though? It’s not like I cannot change my situation. It’s easy to say this but when you’re at the bottom of the barrel in terms of finance, you’re left to put up with this shit until it gets better. Always fucking wanting time to pass by faster so you can get up out of this fucking shit-hole of a city and back home to the glory of being with your family and friends, sleeping without being woken up by crazy-ass neighbors. I always want to fast-forward out of this bullshit, not wanting to deal with this shit anymore. Then I think to myself how there are always shitty people on this earth, matter of fact, I may be one of those shitty people to someone else. The fact is that there will never be a shortage of fucked-up, shitty, terrible people because this is just the way of life and part of life is learning how to cope and adjust. It is simply a waste of breath to spend all your time arguing or fighting with someone. Keep your head down and keep working hard and just shut the fuck up.
Maybe this is just an excuse to avoid confrontations, but think about it. What do you gain if you win an argument? What do you get when you win a fight? What happens when you get someone to do what you say?
YOU GET USED TO HAVING IT YOUR WAY
What happens when you get used to having things your way? You begin to expect it. The fact is that everyone bows down to someone and if they don’t, they will develop an EGO which is the worst thing that anyone can develop.
Having an EGO can ultimately hurt you as there is a saying that states “what goes up must come down.” People with Egos’ will eventually fall and the higher they are, the further that they have to fall because of what they attach themselves to. If you’re a boss and you’re used to telling people what to do, then when you suddenly lose that power, you begin to eat what I call a big slice of humble pie. Everyone eats a piece from time to time.
Why do you think that monks are some of the happiest people in life? It’s because they don’t have any attachments, no EGO.
When you are attached to nothing, you have less to fall from, and then you learn to be happy with what you have.
Lesson today: Stop looking for the future to come, it will come. Focus on the present. Lose the EGO.
